Out of the blue this weekend we decided on a trip to Europe with the kids next summer. They are both good travelers, and they both have interests that would fit nicely to a trip to Europe, lots of history to see and places to see.
We quickly looked into flights, and things to do and see (to figure out how much money we'll need to save). I'm not sure when it turned from a germ of an idea to an actual event to plan, but it did.
Then while we were using Google on two different laptops to plan our adventure the words slipped from my mouth. "I would like to live in Europe for a while."
"I could live anywhere in Europe." He said looking at me over the top of his screen to gauge my sincerity.
"Let's see if we can make that happen before the kids are too old to come with us."
And the wish was spoken out loud, and there is a chance that it might come true. I have always steadfastly maintained that I don't desire to leave my mountains. But I have traveled a bit and suddenly I have the urge to immerse myself in another culture. There are job options for us out there, and the chance to walk in the footsteps of great artists is calling to me.
